Oumou Doumbia

13-year-old seventh-grader Oumou lives in a large family, together with his parents and 3 siblings in a large well-kept yard. Oumou is the eldest child in the family. The father is a jewelry maker, the mother runs the household at home. Neither parent attended school. Two children go to school, both at Chérifoula. She has a uniform, notebooks and pens come out of her tattered backpack, she has no textbooks. She helps a lot at home, especially cleaning. She doesn't have time to play, she studies in the evening and in the morning. She wants to work in a bank. She wants a bag, shoes, clothes and textbooks. The parents cannot pay the tuition fees, or only with great difficulty.
