Mamoutou Sidibe

The 9-year-old 3rd-grader boy lives in a family of four children, he is the third child. His father is a driver, but now he has no job, his mother is a housewife. They are supported by the extended family. Neither parent attended school. 2 of the children go to public school. Mamoutou doesn’t have a uniform, he picks up his teaching aids from an infinitely ragged backpack - a chalkboard, exercise book, a pen and an almost unreadable ragged French book. They eat twice a day. Mamoutou loves to read and play football. His favorite team is Juventus. He would like to have a soccer ball, textbooks and a backpack. The family is unable to pay tuition since months.
