Madou Djiguiba

In 2021, 16-year-old Madou's father was killed during a nighttime attack in Dogon land, and he fled with his siblings to his aunt living in Bamako. Madou is only in the 5th grade because he was unable to continue his studies after the closure of the school in Dogon land due to the riots. His 4 siblings and mother still remained in the village, as their relatives could not accommodate them too. His favorite subjects are math, reading, and writing. In his spare time, he plays football, Barcelona and Messi are his favorite. He helps sell oranges and mangoes at the market and does the jobs he is assigned to do. He longs for school supplies and textbooks.
